DIY Built In BBQ (Part 1) | Welding Project

In this video I show you how I built my DIY built-in BBQ grill as I go on building up my outdoor kitchen. The base design will be somewhat similar to a parrilla grill, and in the first video I'll make and install the base of the barbecue.

The frame is made from 5 cm (2 in) steel angle bar about 3 mm (3/32 in) thick. It measures 96 cm x 55 cm (37.8 in x 21.7 in ), with a height of 15 cm (5.9 in), that is a big BBQ.

While the sides and bottom plates were made from scrap steel sheet metal roughly 2 mm (1/16 in) thick. I welded it all with my cheap flux core welding machine, this thing is a must have for non-welders. It's much easier to weld and it makes me look almost like I know what I'm doing ;).

The bottom is covered in fire bricks so it will last forever. In the next videos I'll make the chimney and all the finishing details.

When finished this will be probably my biggest welding project ever and it took some time, but it turned out great.
