The work of our tank crews in covering assault groups and destroying enemy positions

Basic principles of interaction between infantry and tanks.
In the attack.
Tanks support the advanced units with fire when capturing a bridgehead. During an assault they provide the initial phase of the attack before the units enter their areas of operation. When advancing into positions to fire, tanks must be supported by regular infantry fire to destroy ATGMs and other anti-tank weapons.

Attack (sweeping) urban conditions.

During combat on city streets, tanks and BMPs move along the street under the cover of infantry, which clears the terrain of anti-tank weapons. Tanks and BMPs in turn support the infantry with on-board fire from a safe distance to destroy enemy firing positions.
Tanks are the most effective means of destroying the enemy in buildings, for direct fire on pillboxes, strong fortifications, or firing positions in reinforced concrete buildings.
