For this episode of The SAM Podcast, SAM members Leigh Vossen and Sheldon Munroe are joined by former Medieval Studies professor at the University of Toronto, Alexander Andrée.

In 2021, while on research leave in Sweden, Andrée began receiving letters from the Dean and the Vice-Provost concerning his vaccination status. They threatened to terminated him if he did not upload proof of vaccination. On December 29, 2022 he wrote an open letter to the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto announcing his resignation as a tenured professor.

During our interview, Professor Andrée walks us through his pandemic journey and how he came to making the decision to resign from The University of Toronto.
