Debunking Register Donation Charitable Contribution Lies
Corporation & businesses of all kinds are not able to write off a customers donations at a register. A business is only allowed to do that with earned income. Donations at the register is not earned income. An individual can write it off on their own personal taxes but most don't reach the standard deduction anyways so tracking it does not have much of a point with it being in such small increments. This was a lie spread by a meme that started on Twitter. Stop spreading the lie. Nonprofits rely heavily on corporate donations. Several hundred million per year are donated to nonprofits at the corporate level. This is not something that should falsely spread around.
