Gov. Gretchen Whitmer talks upcoming presidential elections

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer says she is not planning on running for president in any upcoming presidential elections. When asked about the possibility of Gov. Ron DeSantis running, she said can’t speak on him directly but that she doesn’t want to “wage culture wars”.

“I think it's incredibly destructive when people just try to pit others against one another – stoke fear. I think that's a really destructive way to lead,” she said, emphasizing that she doesn’t know DeSantis but fears this general trend.
