TRIESTE in a Day - Discovering the Capital City of Friuli Venezia Giulia

Trieste is the capital town of Friuli Venezia Giulia, an Italian Region bordering Austria to the north and Slovenia to the east.

It is in the 18th century that this city, under the rule of the Holy Roman Empire (Habsburg house), saw its greatness flourish.

Only after the Second World War the city became fully Italian, having both influence from the Austrian empire first and from Yugoslavia later.

Today the city is unique in its kind, with a strong cultural identity and yet with many cultures living in the city: you will even find a Serb-orthodox community and a Greek community! Not to talk about the Jews with a great Sinagogue and, of course, the many Catholic churches.

Trieste is well known for a beverage that supposedly helps to recover energies: coffee! In fact, beware of asking the right kind of coffee once in Trieste: a "nero" is the common Italian espresso, drunk in a sole sip. Asking for a "nero in B" will give you an espresso served in a small glass, a "bicchiere", which B stands for.

On Triestemetro https://triestemetro.eu/itinerari you will find several itineraries you can follow around the city.
Download the app on https://triestemetro.eu/app and follow the instructions to visit all places seen in the videos and many more!
