The 64+ Hard-Ass, Not to Be Mistaken for Leisurely, Jobs I've Had Since My First Job at Burger King👑
I also worked for Strawbridge and Clothier (forgot to mention) one Christmas Season at the Christiana Mall, AND as a Picker and Packer for Amazon at the Amazon warehouse in Wilmington, Delaware, back when Amazon was new via a temp agency. If you survived the onslaught of a-holes trying to push people out, then you could sign on and gain monetarily as one of the 'owners' in a major co-op scam per se.
Also, when I talk about whether or not I ever saw a 'man' growing up. This applies to the men in immediate surroundings and/or family connections born prior to 1970. They didn't have to work at fast food joints while the girls did. And women, young women, were treated harshly and had to develop harder work ethics while the guys did not who were born prior to 1970. Anyone after that year had an entirely different scenario unfold.
Also, when I talk about people being able to manipulate others out of money in order to be taken care of, I mean a lot of stepfamily members who gained from my father's hard work, while I didn't. Quite a few properties and assets, co-signing, deals, dinners, and soooooooo much more over the course of my lifetime that THEY gained. I didn't really get any of this aside from the occasional dinner and I was too afraid to order the expensive stuff on the menu for fear of a backlash later from a woman who knew how to ensure her kids got way more than they deserved or worked for.
Here I'll get into detail about the many, many, many hats I've worn. Orientations, paperwork, interviews and alllllllllllllll the different types of people, personalities etc that I've worked for. Not to mention, all the queries and pitch letters I've written as part of a normal writing career (numbers in the 100s and I have the emails to prove it). Not to mention all the time and effort put into blogging, goodreads, amazon, bookbaby and other sites that need maintaining as an independent writer.
NONE of these jobs have been easy. Especially freelance writing and dog walking, all alone, with no supportive partner, husband, wife, family, etc. Having to keep track of EVERYTHING in regards to taxes, expenses, and then some. For many years, I've had NO sick days, no federal holidays, no vacations, no leave of absences, no personal days and all the other bonuses and perks that come with traditional jobs. Should I take a day off, there's no pay. That's how it is in Independent Land. (and no husband whose benefits plan I can put on, per se)
And everyone thought I had it easy. WRONG!
