I Nearly Died Alone In The Jungle | Guyana 🇬🇾

This was definitely one of my worst ideas. Venturing into the jungle alone to find a fort that was left abandoned 200 years ago. Fort Nassau is a little known, however important part of the history of mans fight for freedom.

It was once the stronghold of the dutch under attack from rebelling African.
Hogenhiem, the Dutch commander in charge of the colonist held the Fort for a short period whilst under attack from the rebellion troops who heralded Cuffy as their leader.

Cuffy aimed at capturing and creating an independent African territory called Berbice. Unfortunately, a mutiny within his ranks, and too much outside support for the dutch, which came from the British, the indigenous peoples and eventually dutch reinforcements meant the rebellion would be unsuccessful.

Join me as a travelled into one of the most remote locations I have ever been in search of the Fort and try to live and retell the story of the 1763 Great Rebellion.
