Hornady 6.5 PRC The Creedmoor Killers

The PRC calibers from Hornady are some of the hottest new options for rifle calibers. You can hardly get ammo for them, but everyone's racing to get rifles to market and lots of people are talking about them. But, what ARE they?
I get into 6.5, 7mm and 300 PRC, not just the 6.5.

First and foremost, I don't think they're so revolutionary that you need to run out and replace your current hunting rifles. If you're looking for something new, these are great options, but the real benefits are for folks who have a serious need for flatter shooting rounds in each category. Competitors, long distance hunters and tactical users in particular. Just like 308 vs 6.5 Creedmoor, if you're shooting at the much more common ranges, such as 300 yards and in, there are few if any reasons to switch.
