Lucid Dreaming Technique | Spinning
The Spinning Technique
This lucid dreaming technique comes from Stephen Laberges book “Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming” and can be found in more detail there.
The spinning technique is a technique discovered by Stephen Laberge that is used in order to prolong a Lucid dream but it can also be used to change the dream scene.
To use this technique you must first recognize when a dream is about to end. The visual aspects of a dream are usually the first to go so this can often be a reliable sign that the dream is nearing an end. Possibly the color or realism of the dream will begin to fade, though you may even find the light dimming or your vision fading.
As soon as you realize the dream is ending quickly spin your body. Be sure to do this before the dream body itself evaporates.
As you are spinning remind yourself that the next thing you see will likely be a dream.
Continue spinning until you find yourself in a stable world. Immediately do a dream check.
