There are two main ways - digitally or handwriting it out in a notebook.

This is completely your personal preference and there is no wrong way to record the info.

✅ Handwriting - can be laborious but the physicality of writing it out enables you to “feel” the reality of your time

✅ Digitally - quick to do and easy to analyse if you use a spreadsheet or a time tracking tool. But you don't get the impact of the choices that you make.

You could of course combine the both. Write it out during the day and then input the data into your tool of choice.

Run it for at least a week or long enough to cover the majority of your typical days (I include monitoring weekends even though I never schedule anything its time I can utilise IF I want or need to)

Quick ways to fail at this task, and 𝗜 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗧. 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦. 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦. 𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛…..

☠️ Not being completely honest - You have to be completely honest with yourself - otherwise what's the point? You will have squiffy data
☠️ Not actually wanting to change anything - stop reading and watching these videos - you're wasting your time!!!!!

This can be as uncomfortable as waxing your own downstairs, and that's to be expected. You are facing truths that you want to change.

𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Now you're in a position of power, facing your monstrous truth of wasted time. You can change it right there and then.

What are you going to do with this info?

It may only be an hour that you can free up. That’s awesome - that's 5 hours a week (Mon to Fri) a whopping 260 hrs a year.

That's learning a new topic. Setting up a side project. Volunteering. Painting. Writing a book. Reading - how many? It’s time you can spend on YOU.

It's time you can dispense wherever you want.

As with most things in life - it's what you do with this knowledge.

❓ What changes do you want to make?
❓ How do you want to spend your life?
❓ What do you want to spend this time doing?

Tomorrow I will show you my original plan - which incidentally didn't work but provided the platform to try different ways to manage my time, and it evolved.
