Fingers touching saw blade..

I get a ton of comments from people saying “you’re going to cut your fingers off” and first I want to say, thank you for caring ❤️ But the saws I use are lapidary saws and the blades that are used are continuous diamond blades. Meaning, there are no teeth and it is a continuous surface around the entire blade. These blades, with water, slowly grind the stones until they are cut.

Some safety measures to take with lapidary saws and continuous blades:

1. Don’t touch the blade without water, you will get burned.
2. Don’t cut stones without water, it will creat dust which is harmful to your lungs and will reduce the lifespan of your blade.
3. Do not wear gloves that are not skin tight, the gloves may get caught between the slot and the blade and that’s where you could actually get hurt.
4. Wear a respirator
5. Wear safety glasses or face shield.

Basically, read your saw manual and use common sense ❤️
