William (Bill) Edwin Sullivan was born May 26 1930 in Flint, Michigan. He was the oldest of four children, two brothers and a sister. Bill had an aptitude and love for music, sang in choir, played clarinet, and took up the electronic organ.
Bill led his whole family to join the Methodist Church as a teenager. He coached Christian radio and television concerns over most of his life. Bill graduated from Flint Junior College and received a Bachelors of Arts in Social Studies with a Teacher’s Certificate from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Sergeant Bill Sullivan was an army veteran stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso Texas during the Korean War and attended radar school there. After the army, Bill took a course in American Banking, bought a 1956 Chevy, and drove Route 66 out to California to work for Bank of America.
He met and married his wife, Eileen in 1957. They had two children and were married for 65 years. He worked for various electronics firms and retired from the Xerox Corporation in the 1990s. His hobbies were fixing things around the house, reading, Egyptology, Tesla electronics, collecting miniature buildings, taking road trips, puttering in the garden, and ballroom dancing.
His wife passed away on January 19, 2023 and Bill decided to join her three weeks later. He is survived by his sister, Dolores Bueche, his son Michael Sullivan and daughter Mary-Margaret Stratton, their spouses, beloved nieces, nephews and his grandson Riley Joshua.
