"The situation is chaotic. People are desperate. Some people have been trying to get an appointment for humanitarian parole since January 12, and the CBP ONE app is in chaos. We wake up at 4 am to get the appointment, and the app throws us out. It's a matter of luck. People are desperate, and there is a rumour that there are buses that can take us to Canada. But no one is giving us explanations, and we are in shock. Many people are sleeping on the streets, and those who are luckier have a job."
"We are trying to get a residence permit here in Ciudad Juarez, and the (Mexican) migration agents tell us that there is no permit for anyone. and we have to see how we work or solve our situation. They say they will deport us if they arrest us on the street. We don't know what to do. I want to work. I am a barber, and I am working in a barber shop. But we have to take care of ourselves because immigration agents will arrest us and send us back to Tapachula (the southern border of Mexico), and getting back here could take us three or four months."
