This iconic performance marked the beginning of Beatlemania and changed popular music forever. The Ed Sullivan Show was a cultural phenomenon and the demand to be part of the studio audience was unprecedented. The show received over 50,000 applications for the 728 seats in its TV studio, demonstrating just how popular it had become. It showcased some of the most iconic musical acts of all time and cemented its legacy as one of the greatest shows ever broadcast on television.
