Assault: Retribution (PS1) Gameplay (PS3 Upscale) -No Commentary-

Assault: Retribution is a short, but fun Contra clone on the PS1 that allows two-player coop play. The Contra games on the PS1 weren't great, so that left the abdicated Contra crown open for other contenders to try and snatch it away. Assault: Retribution, One, Apocalypse, and Expendable come to mind as good contenders on top of Legacy of War, and C: The Contra Adventure.

This is a recent acquisition for me, but I've wanted to play it for years. This game scored poorly, but most of the complaints were about the length of the game, and not the gameplay. For example, the Gamepro review gave it a 2.5 out of 5 for fun-factor which sounds like a terrible score, but they essentially said it was a fun game, but it's length hurt it for a full-priced purchase.

Either way, this game is worth checking out if you like Contra style shooters, and have a friend to play coop with. I haven't taken the time to beat it yet, but it's a fun game from what I have played of it so far. I am playing on normal difficulty here, but there are two higher difficulties to try.
