7 Old Testament prophecies & specific historical facts prove that only Jesus/Yeshua could ever be the Savior of Israel & the world
Originally aired 12/31/22. Most people, both Jewish and Gentile, do not realize that BOTH the OLD Testament AND the NEW TESTAMENT were written almost ENTIRELY by faithful Jewish believers in God, and then those who witnessed, and lived with Yeshua/Jesus, the promised Messiah—to the Jew first, then to the Gentile.

And so although only 2 BOOKS in the whole New Testament were written by Gentiles (The Gospel of Luke and The Book of Acts), Jewish people have been forbidden to even read or consider the claims of these accounts, and the evidence that Yeshua is their prophesied Messiah.

Jesus was JEWISH, Friends. The MOST JEWISH OF JEWISH PEOPLE because He claimed in Matt 5:17-18:
17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Both Jews and Gentiles error in their lack of these fundamental facts:
• For the Jews, Jesus/ Yeshua is their Messiah, we’re just grafted into YOUR promises and blessings
• For the Gentiles: We are Gentiles—not Jews. We do NOT replace the Jewish people for the promises made to Israel—That is a satanic lie

So let’s dive in and begin looking at these 7 Old Testament Prophecies that PROVE Jesus/Yeshua was Israel’s Promised Messiah:

Now we know that there were hundreds of specific prophecies about the Messiah.
They are all vital for helping followers to identify Him, and to understand God’s promises about WHO HE IS (which we went over 2 weeks ago), and concerning the things to come.

But since Jewish people generally do not accept any verses from the New Testament, and since they are skeptical about some of the clams concerning what Jesus/ Yeshua did in His earthly ministry, today, we are going to look at 7 specific Messianic prophecies from the Old Testament/ Tenach, along with specific facts of history that are NOT in dispute.
So here we go.

1. A Lawgiver will not depart from Judah until Shiloh comes:
Genesis 49:10-11 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him [shall be] the obedience of the people.

לֹא־יָסוּר שֵׁבֶט מִיהוּדָה וּמְחֹקֵק מִבֵּין רַגְלָיו עַד כִּי־יָבֹא שילה וְלוֹ יִקְּהַת עַמִּים

• Cannot track descendants of Judah now (after 2,000 year dispersion) records of genealogy destroyed, so not possible to ID descendant of Judah

2. Born in Bethlehem:
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”

(5:1) וְאַתָּה בֵּית־לֶחֶם אֶפְרָתָה צָעִיר לִהְיוֹת בְּאַלְפֵי יְהוּדָה מִמְּךָ לִי יֵצֵא לִהְיוֹת מוֹשֵׁל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וּמוֹצָאֹתָיו מִקֶּדֶם מִימֵי עוֹלָם

• This is no longer feasible because Bethlehem is in Arab hands--they are the administrators of the city and few Jews go there, let alone are born there. It is no longer the city of David, so this Prophecy is unlikely to happen now, and it is a REQUIREMENT for the Messiah

3. He will come to Jerusalem on a donkey:

Gen 49:11 Binding his donkey to the vine, And his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, And his clothes in the blood of grapes.”
Zechariah 9:9(NKJV) “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He [is] just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. Zech 9:11 (NKJV) “As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.

Gen 49:11 אֹסְרִי לַגֶּפֶן עירה וְלַשֹּׂרֵקָה בְּנִי אֲתֹנוֹ כִּבֵּס בַּיַּיִן לְבֻשׁוֹ וּבְדַם־עֲנָבִים סותה

Zech 9:9, 11 גִּילִי מְאֹד בַּת־צִיּוֹן הָרִיעִי בַּת יְרוּשָׁלִַם הִנֵּה מַלְכֵּךְ יָבוֹא לָךְ צַדִּיק וְנוֹשָׁע הוּא עָנִי וְרֹכֵב עַל־חֲמוֹר וְעַל־עַיִר בֶּן־אֲתֹנוֹת

גַּם־אַתְּ בְּדַם־בְּרִיתֵךְ שִׁלַּחְתִּי אֲסִירַיִךְ מִבּוֹר אֵין מַיִם בּוֹ

This prophecy describes the Messiah coming in PEACE on a donkey to bring a new covenant in His Own Blood as the sacrifice for sins. Here He is not coming to conquer on a horse and put Israel's enemies down. That is His 2nd coming. Anyone trying to enter Jerusalem on a donkey now is just copying what Jesus/Yeshua already did.

4. The Messiah would specifically be a Son of David & have an everlasting kingdom:

Psa 89:3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Psa 89:20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Psa 89:27 Also I will make him [my] firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

Jeremiah 33:14-15 'Behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: 15 'In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Psalm 89:3 כָּרַתִּי בְרִית לִבְחִירִי נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי לְדָוִד עַבְדִּי׃
Psa 89:20 מָצָאתִי דָּוִד עַבְדִּי בְּשֶׁמֶן קָדְשִׁי מְשַׁחְתִּיו׃
Psa 89:27 אַף־אָנִי בְּכֹור אֶתְּנֵהוּ עֶלְיֹון לְמַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ׃

Jer 33:14 הִנֵּה יָמִים בָּאִים נְאֻם־יְהוָה וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַטֹּוב אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתִּי אֶל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְעַל־בֵּית יְהוּדָה׃
Jer 33:15 בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וּבָעֵת הַהִיא אַצְמִיחַ לְדָוִד צֶמַח צְדָקָה וְעָשָׂה מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָה בָּאָרֶץ׃

Again, the genealogies have all been lost and not strictly kept since the dispersion. It is not possible to know who is in the bloodline of King David, and this is to be a clear sign and evidence that He is the Messiah.

5. He will come before temple is destroyed:
Daniel 9: 26 (picking op where left off) “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. . .” [this prophecy about the destruction of the 2nd temple was fulfilled in 70 AD (the FIRST temple was still destroyed when Daniel wrote this prophecy)

Malachi 3:1 (NKJV) "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts.”

Dan 9:26 וְאַחֲרֵי הַשָּׁבֻעִים שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁנַיִם יִכָּרֵת מָשִׁיחַ וְאֵין לֹו וְהָעִיר וְהַקֹּדֶשׁ יַשְׁחִית עַם נָגִיד הַבָּא וְקִצֹּו בַשֶּׁטֶף וְעַד קֵץ מִלְחָמָה נֶחֱרֶצֶת שֹׁמֵמֹות׃

Mal 3:1 הִנְנִי שֹׁלֵחַ מַלְאָכִי וּפִנָּה־דֶרֶךְ לְפָנָי וּפִתְאֹם יָבֹוא אֶל־הֵיכָלֹו הָאָדֹון אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּם מְבַקְשִׁים וּמַלְאַךְ הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר־אַתֶּם חֲפֵצִים הִנֵּה־בָא אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות׃

The temple was destroyed in 70 AD, 40 years after Jesus/Yeshua's sacrifice and resurrection (a pattern in the Bible). Since Jesus has fulfilled all the prophecies exactly, the next temple to be built in Jerusalem will be to deceive the Jewish people, and the ANTI-MESSIAH will enter and set up the abomination described in Daniel 9:27 and declare himself god.

6. He will be betrayed and Killed horribly by crucifixion:
Psalm 22:14-18. 14 “I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. 15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. 16 For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. THEY PIERCED MY HANDS AND MY FEET; 17 I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. 18 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then THEY WILL LOOK ON ME WHOM THEY PIERCED. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Psalm 22:14 כַּמַּיִם נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי וְהִתְפָּרְדוּ כָּל־עַצְמֹותָי הָיָה לִבִּי כַּדֹּונָג נָמֵס בְּתֹוךְ מֵעָי׃
Psa 22:15 יָבֵשׁ כַּחֶרֶשׂ כֹּחִי וּלְשֹׁונִי מֻדְבָּק מַלְקֹוחָי וְלַעֲפַר־מָוֶת תִּשְׁפְּתֵנִי׃
Psa 22:16 כִּי סְבָבוּנִי כְּלָבִים עֲדַת מְרֵעִים הִקִּיפוּנִי כָּאֲרִי יָדַי וְרַגְלָי׃
Psa 22:17 אֲסַפֵּר כָּל־עַצְמֹותָי הֵמָּה יַבִּיטוּ יִרְאוּ־בִי׃
Psa 22:18 יְחַלְּקוּ בְגָדַי לָהֶם וְעַל־לְבוּשִׁי יַפִּילוּ גֹורָל׃

Zec 12:10 WLC - וְשָׁפַכְתִּי עַל־בֵּית דָּוִיד וְעַל יֹושֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִַם רוּחַ חֵן וְתַחֲנוּנִים וְהִבִּיטוּ אֵלַי אֵת אֲשֶׁר־דָּקָרוּ וְסָפְדוּ עָלָיו כְּמִסְפֵּד עַל־הַיָּחִיד וְהָמֵר עָלָיו כְּהָמֵר עַל־הַבְּכֹור׃

7. His name is Yeshua (Jesus): We discussed this in detail 2 weeks ago:
Zechariah 6:11-13, 11 "Take the silver and gold, make an elaborate crown, and set it on the head of Joshua (Yeshua) the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
12 "Then speak to him, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying: "Behold, the Man whose name [Yeshua] is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the LORD; 13 Yes, He [the name is the Branch, and the Branch] shall build the temple of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, And the counsel of peace shall be between them both

Zec 6:11 וְלָקַחְתָּ כֶסֶף־וְזָהָב וְעָשִׂיתָ עֲטָרֹות וְשַׂמְתָּ בְּרֹאשׁ יְהֹושֻׁעַ בֶּן־יְהֹוצָדָק הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹול׃
Zec 6:12 וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה־אִישׁ צֶמַח שְׁמֹו וּמִתַּחְתָּיו יִצְמָח וּבָנָה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה׃
Zec 6:13 וְהוּא יִבְנֶה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה וְהוּא־יִשָּׂא הֹוד וְיָשַׁב וּמָשַׁל עַל־כִּסְאֹו וְהָיָה כֹהֵן עַל־כִּסְאֹו וַעֲצַת שָׁלֹום תִּהְיֶה בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם׃
