Do the ghost of Alexandria founder William Ramsay stalk these halls?

The Ramsay House in Alexandria, Virginia was built in 1724 by William Ramsay, a Scottish merchant and the city's first mayor. It is a rare example of colonial-era architecture and is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Alexandria. The house was originally a single room that was added onto over the years, and it has undergone several renovations and restorations to preserve its historical character. Today, it functions as the Alexandria Visitor Center. Something nonphysical from the past has remained. Though few have spotted these ghosts, many have heard them rustling around the second floor. Furniture appears to move on its own and visitors and staff experience the sensation of sharing the room with something unseen. No one is sure whether to blame William Ramsay or his son Dennis, or both, for this activity. #virginia #alexandriava #hauntedhouse
