Savage Axis Trigger Job: Fix Pull Weight and Overtravel | The Social Regressive

In the last video we fixed the trigger creep on our Savage Axis. Now it's time to reduce the pull weight and overtravel.

The Savage Axis has a heavy trigger with a lot of creep and overtravel. A metal shim killed the creep. Now we'll be using an Allen fastener and a replacement spring to fix the rest. We ended up with a safe 3-pound trigger pull.

Materials:
1. 3/4" #10-24 Stainless Allen Fastener from Lowe's
2. #10-24 Nuts
3. #71 Spring Kit from Brownell's

Tools:
1. Hand Drill or Lathe
2. Lathe File
3. Pliers
4. Wire Cutters

Test your trigger for function and safety before you finalize the trigger job. You should be able to drop your rifle with the safety off onto its butt from a height of 1 foot without the sear disengaging.
