Many countries are all doing this at the same time (UK just announced they will be having one by 2030). Bit of a coincidence, a bit like the 15 minutes cities that many countries are all bringing in at the same time.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd start wondering if this was all globally coordinated and planned well in advance.
