A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect on Thursday

A strong winter storm is headed our way, but most of us are going to be too warm for heavy snow amounts. Rain spreads across southeast Wisconsin after midnight tonight. The rain transitions over to snow first across our northwestern counties during the early morning, then all of SE Wisconsin by midday. Most of the area will probably only pick up an inch or two of slushy snow. There is potential for much higher amounts the farther northwest you go. Locations like Beaver Dam and Fond du Lac might end up with around 6" of snow. A stray snow shower and cooler conditions linger into Friday.
