Homemade laundry soap vs Tide

I made many different versions of homemade laundry soap over the years, liquid and powdered form.
I found I prefer Tide because the fresh smell lasts longer, it is easier on my clothes, I don't have to pretreat stains as much, saves on time, and I didn't notice a different in the cost with not having to wash and pretreat as much.
