Don´t Be afraid of the Dark

I wrote this song inspired by events of the last three years.
The world revealed a darkness and a totalitarian madness that frankly has been nothing short of shocking to witness.
A new medical substance was introduced and people face extreme discrimination and intense bullying if they choose not to be injected with it. And if they let themselves be injected with that certain medical substance, many become severely ill. Or worse. And we are not allowed to talk about it. The world became divided in two and only one side was the right one. The other side was to be ridiculed and ignored and sacrificed on the altar of shame.

"Audiatur et altera pars", as the Romans said. "Hear the other side."

To all those who were attacked by the soldiers of the narrative or hurt by the medical substance:
We hear you - may your wounds be healed.

The darkness only lives through fear - it feeds on it.
So in the words of a man from Galilee 2000 years ago: Don´t be afraid.

Lyrics

DON´T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK

Here comes the lunch time break
And she´s gonna take
A little timeout with her friends
Shoot the breeze about the weekend
And what you did last night

She grabs her favourite cup
And she heads on up
To the company canteen
She starts out with a soft ”hello”
But something just ain´t right

There is a darkness here – but it only lives through fear

Don´t be afraid of the dark
Don´t let them tear us apart
The dawn will come again
The night will meet its end
Don´t be afraid of the dark

So much misery – nothing here to see
Everybody move along
Oh so safe and so effective and so for the common good

Has the world gone mad
Tries to tell us that
There´s a line drawn in the sand
A pharmaceutical division between the good and bad
There is a darkness here – but it only lives through fear

Don´t be afraid of the dark...

You were only doing what they said and
Now you´re in a battle for your life
Nobody hears a thing
Silence is everything

No more tyranny
No more injury
No more ministers of shame

Don´be afraid of the dark...
When facing inhumanity – don´t be afraid of the dark
