I can't believe musicians don't do this. It's such a powerful resource for creativity but a lot of musicians who I speak to choose to watch videos instead.

Nothing wrong with that.

However, I think reading a good fiction book stimulates the creative mind in a different way.

I also enjoy autobiographies.

Hearing how people whom I admire, have lived their lives really seems to inspire me to live a life worth writing a book about too!
