Tsunami Warning for Italian Coasts: “Waves reaching the Italian coast”, after Earthquake in Turkiye

After a massive earthquake struck Turkiye, Italian authorities have issued a tsunami alert. According to this alert residents to stay away from coasts and to follow instructions issued by local government bodies. It is said in alert that after an earthquake of 7.8 magnitudes wreaked havoc in parts of Turkiye and Syria, there is potential tsunami risk in the Italian coastal areas. Italian Tsunami Alert Center urged the residents of the coastal areas to move to a higher nearby area and follow the guidelines prescribed by the authorities. Besides, it is recommended in warning even a wave with a height of only 0.5 meters can cause dangerous floods and very strong currents. This warning came after earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmarash of Turkiye and Syria.
