Rob Roy by Sir Walter Scott
A three-part BBC Radio adaptation by Judith Adams of Sir Walter Scott's thrilling tale of adventure. love and heroism during the Jacobite Uprising of 1715.
Because of his difference from his father and brother in religion and temperment and his refusal to join his rich London merchant father's business, Francis Osbaldistone is banished from his rich London merchant family and sent to the long-unseen family home in the north of England near the border with Scotland. While there, he meets and is befriended by the beautiful high-spirited Diana Vernon, whose father has been forced to go into hiding because of his Jacobite sympathies, and the mysterious but powerful Scot Robert Campbell, an associate of Diana's uncle.
Meanwhile, Francis' intelligent but unscrupulous and malignant cousin Rashleigh is taken into the business...a decision Mr. Osbaldistone may come to regret when Rashleigh's theft of certain important documents may destroy the firm and cost Mr. Osbaldistone his honor.
