02.05.23 "Challenging the Ego's Drive to Separate"

I have become aware of how all pervasive is the ego’s drive to separate us from each other. You could truthfully say that its motto is “divide and conquer.” True joining always dissolves the ego. There is a current narrative, increasing in popularity, that many people prefer their furry animal friends, to people. Something always seemed a little bit OFF for me about this. I love animals and had a dog for many years. However my dog was always my “pet” (a very politically incorrect term now) and never my primary, chosen, relationship partner. During the Covid19 pandemic (I heard a rumor that it’s over now – is that true?) we were told to isolate, separate, wear masks, stand 6 feet apart, avoid crowded stores, don’t go to church (they sing there and project saliva "eeck!!"), even family gatherings of more than 9 people were a “No!” What was all this but forced separation. The AIDS epidemic just about stopped the sexual revolution that had been happening for decades. Bodies joining to have adult fun and intimacy could now KILL YOU – more separation. We’re being pushed (forced) to drive electric cars with limited range. Stay close to home! More separation. Move to the rural country, urban cities are unlivable, ... you get the picture. ACIM tells us to challenge all these things. "To learn this course requires willingness to question every value that you hold." (OrEd.Tx.24.2) Join me Sunday as we challenge the ego and its drive to separate us, and let’s dedicate ourselves to being a proactive and vigilant joiner whenever we can. 33 min. SUBSCRIBE & SHARE
