Mountain Monsters Devil Dog of Logan County

You can find the show on Discovery Plus and Travel Channel. It's out there, but I enjoy that kind of stuff.

This clip came from Season 1 Episode 2 Titled Devil Dog of Logan County.

In the episode, some people in an area are reporting coyotes ( apex top of the food chain ) all being systematically killed off. While they say this is a devil dog and reported by eyewitnesses as such, what was fascinating was a farmer was able to capture and video tape it for a few brief seconds.

Slowed down, you can clearly somewhat make out that the tail is almost non existent. Are there any large predatory dog like animals that you know of, that don't have much of a tail and would easily be able to take out a pack of coyotes?

I do - and by the looks of the way this dog runs off, it's likely to be a Hyena - quite possibly mixed with a wolf?

While I too, watched the Hounds of Hell from the TV Show Supernatural trying to get the Winchester boys - I believe strongly that these devil dogs, are escapees from a zoo, or released by a private collector who couldn't handle owning them beyond being pups. Some people are really into exotic pets.
