The smokehouse woodwork is looking great with the burnt Old Slab Wood live edge trim we are installing. Stay tuned as we continue to finish the smokehouse and increase our self-reliance on the homestead. We are building an old-fashioned smokehouse for curing meat. All of the wood used for the build is sourced and milled from the land we own. Curing meat by smoke has been used for many generations and we hope to use the process for many more. The process is meant to preserve the meat without having to use refrigeration.
