Us adopting Chinese mentality?

How the Us is gradually adopting a totalitarian mentality for "the greater good" and as a means to justify certain measures and actions. One might say that the measures taken are different from a totalitarian regime but they are not since its root is the exclusive adaption of the collective psychology (tribal in nature) rather than including the dignity of each individual. Choosing the collective approach as the solution rather than a more individual approach is caused by lack of consciousness and inability to discern and make wise decisions. Paradoxically good intentions in this case pave the road towards lower states of being (to not mention "hell").
Interestingly nobody is voting on paper for these measures, making us question what is true democracy.
