Why WordPress?

If you own everything, you're in control of it. You're not at somebody's mercy
when they decide to change the rules. You may or may not have ever fallen into that, but I've dealt with it when people call me and they're dealing with it type of thing.

So it does happen. The other thing that has happened with some of these platforms is that they have closed. The business just closed. Well, what happens to all those websites built on those platforms?

Hopefully, you got that figured out before they closed. Or they're merging with other businesses. And then, again, they're changing the rules when that merger happens. And it could be anything from more than doubling the price so we don't really want this type of business on our platforms anymore.
That's the biggest reason why I use WordPress and I use WordPress.org.
