Quotes
“I was born in Poland, so I started investing in Poland after I got my first apartment. Then moved to Ireland, not a big fan of renting, so it didn’t take long for us to get our own corner and after we moved to Canada, it was the same approach.”
“Once we learned what kind of financial products are available here in this market (Canada), that opened so many doors. Just buying your primary residence, we managed to find a way to recycle the cash and just buy more.”
“It’s (tapping into the equity of your property) regulated, it’s very towards the family and towards making sure that the citizens have a shelter, and so we know that some people might use the money in different ways not necessarily in making sure that it is going to grow and provide their well-being for the future. They might just blow it out on holidays and cars and stuff like that and then they would end up with it without a roof over their head.”
“Money is always a secondary thing for us. It’s the quality of living, it’s the safety of the place because we’re providing housing for people that live there with their friends, and families, and children.”

Concepts
The property is the subject of the mortgage. They don’t look at you, they look at the numbers of the property. It doesn’t matter how many buildings you have, just as long as you have the downpayment.
When investing in multi-family, always anticipate that accidents and mishaps happen and that your properties are insured, so you can easily recover once these things happen.
Prices of real estate properties in Europe do not grow as fast as it is in Canada. The growth in prices in Europe is usually only two to three percent per year.
Having the same values and goals as your partners is a huge plus in creating a successful partnership.
The quality of the tenant is very important. You can sacrifice some cash flow by lowering rent to ensure that your tenants stay in your rentals. With this approach, you won’t be losing too much money because your cash flow is steady instead of having higher rents but longer vacancy periods.
When going into partnerships, you need to ensure that you have a good relationship with them and that they are willing to work with you for years. Real estate is not a fast business, that’s why partnerships tend to stay for longer than 5 years.
Joining ‘master groups’ and classes can help you greatly not just by providing you with education but also access to groups of people that want to do the same things as you. It can inspire you by seeing other people being able to do what you want to.
