Italian Gravel | Riding in South Italy - Puglia

We hired our bikes from @mfcyclingtaranto2039 (MF Cycling Taranto) and the lovely staff helped us find the right fit and gave us a few routes to try out. The first day we tasted the coastal gravel trails winding down south of Taranto, while on the second day we rode mostly north of Taranto through some fine cycling lanes in the historic city, checking the castle and old town before going rural through olive fields, vineyards and some rocky descents and climbs. We rode through an aqueduct and followed the river back to Taranto, through some quiet roads and wide road shoulders.

Abbiamo noleggiato le bici dai fantastici MF Cycling Taranto, lo staff ci ha accolto calorosamente e ci ha aiutato a trovare le giuste misure per il sellino, dotandoci anche di una borsa da bici, bike tool e tubi per gomme.
Abbiamo cercato assieme dei percorsi da fare entrambi i giorni e ci hanno dato consigli su che zone evitare.
Il primo giorno abbiamo testato le gravel, passando attraverso la costa a sud di Taranto, mentre il secondo giorno abbiamo esplorato la cittá attraverso una discreta infrastruttura ciclistica, visitando castello e cittá antica, prima di addentrarci nella gravel a nord di Taranto, attraverso uliveti e vigneti, acquedotti e sentieri single track rocciosi e tecnici, salite e discese divertentissime e un ritorno tranquillo verso taranto attraversando strade in disuso e strade trafficate ma con un bordo strada ampio e autisti rispettosi.
