I wake up in the morning Thank you Jesus on my lips
Then I get my morning coffee and I take a couple sips
Sit down to read my Bible before I hit the door
and I count up all the things in life that I am thankful for.

Thank you Lord you have given me
A tender heart a heart for Your ministry
A heart that loves but most importantly
I have Your gift of a heart of thanks.

And when I'm feeling happy, You are the joy in my life
and when I'm feeling sorrow, I'm thankful then too.
There is no storm I can't face, there's no battle or strife
No weapon formed against me, cause my faith will be found in You
Though I've not much in this world, there's much I'm thankful for

I'm thankful for the clothes I have a roof over my head
I'm thankful for good food and drink a place to lay my head
I'm thankful for the friends I have I love them all so dear
I'm thankful for the Word of God that tells me, “Do not fear.”
I'm thankful for my family, in blood and in the Church
I'm thankful I'm a child of Yours, and that I have great worth
I'm thankful for the blood you shed and thankful for Your loss
When you took my sins to Calvary and bore them on the cross

Thank you Lord for you have given me

Thankful that You called me as a soldier in Your ranks
Thankful most of all Lord that I've got a heart of thanks
