When the Amazon Company announced it had spent a billion dollars on the rights to produce a television show based on J.R.R. Tolkien The Lord of the Rings many fans were very excited but as rumors started to leak and as the first trailer was shown, many fans had their hopes tempered to say the least. When Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premiered on Amazon Prime many studios execs were very hopeful as to the audience reception. Well week after week the ratings continued to drop with just two weeks after it's finale Amazon's the Rings of Power was off Nielsen's top ren list.
