It is a very common thing for many believers to want to be sanctified in the Lord. The other common thing is when once they have agreed to sanctification, then to try to acquire knowledge in large scale amounts.

They believe that the more they study the more they are sanctified. Their mind takes over where their hearts led them.

God told Moses to speak to the rock and it would give forth water for the thirsty to drink. Instead he spoke a hard word to the people. Then he lifted up his hand and took his rod and struck the rock twice.

Then God said to him, "Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them...." Numbers 20:10-13.

There was unbelief in Moses that led to him not sanctifying God in the eyes of the people. What speaks to me is something very simple. It is not in the acquisition of knowledge, but in the believing heart which sanctifies a person.

Then a seeking of the Lord's will in your life will be the order. You will hunger and want only His will in exchange for yours. You will never want your own way. This is what it means to walk in the way of the Lord.

Peter said, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." 1 Peter 3:15.

You see these very words speak about where sanctity must first begin. In the believing heart. Which then will sanctify you, and make you always ready to serve the Lord in the path of His will, in His way. Then Jesus will "see the travail of His soul and be satisfied."

"If your life is broken when given to Jesus, it is because pieces will feed a multitude, when a loaf would satisfy only a little boy." ~ Missionary from South America
