Just days after losing his playmaker Christian Eriksen to injury for three months, Erik ten Hag will now likely have to do without his influential midfield sentry Casemiro for the next three matches after the Brazilian was sent off during a tempestuous second half against Crystal Palace.

With Scott McTominay sidelined for another couple of weeks and Donny van de Beek out for the rest of the season, United’s midfield is being stretched to its limits.
