Most cattle ranches will brand their new calves (required by state laws) in the Spring or Fall or both depending on how they intend to bring their stock to market. This ranch rodeo event simulates the chore by using chalk powder because these calves already carry the permanent brands of their owners. #COEA #RanchRodeo #TeamBranding

The Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association (COEA) opened Independence Day festivities with a July Fourth Junior Ranch Rodeo. Five-member teams representing ten working ranches in the region demonstrating their working ranch skills.

The Saint's Roost Independence Day Celebration has been held in Clarendon, Texas for 143 years. There are three rodeos during the celebration.
