You Don't Have To Go At It Alone

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I'll be honest, I feel a deep tie to the message behind those words. Striping away everything that's been added to it over the years, the simple idea that you are the master of your own destiny is incredibly powerful. Cue the talk about different starting points, the different hands everyone is dealt in life. I absolutely agree, that's all true. The circumstances you are born in to are entirely out of your control. But. The path you chart in life? Where you go from here? I believe that is entirely up to you. How hard your wiling to work. How far you're willing to go. Maybe that's a naïve way of looking at the world, but the opposing view is one that I can't believe is true. You're the master of your life. All that being said, you don't have to do it alone. Life is hard enough without you making it harder. Graciously accept help and be even quicker to offer it.
