How to Make Soap Quickly & Easily.

My favorite “lazy” way to quickly and easily make hot process soap.

Equipment/Ingredients needed:

181 grams of Tallow - https://amzn.to/3RwYvZB or Coconut oil - https://amzn.to/3JDvTvC
126 grams of Lye (Sodium Chloride) - https://amzn.to/3lc0QNe
345 grams of distilled or reverse osmosis water

Kitchen Scale - https://amzn.to/3iLacyL
Immersion Blender - https://amzn.to/3HA4gAW
Crock Pot - https://amzn.to/3DFIB9v
Rubber Gloves - https://amzn.to/3HVF61l
Goggles - https://amzn.to/3HVFqgz

Optional:
Essential oils (1-1.5 ounces) to be added just before pouring into molds. - https://amzn.to/3HuRP9S

Molds - https://amzn.to/3X1kEjR

Instructions:
Put tallow or coconut oil in crock pot on low.
Put on your gloves, goggles, go outside, and add lye to water and stir. Try not to breathe the fumes.
Once water/lye is clear, bring back inside (careful, it’s hot!)
Turn off the crock pot.
Slowly add this water/lye mixture into the melted tallow/coconut oil.
Give it a stir and then use an immersion blender for about 10 minutes. Lean back, it can splash.
Once it comes to trace (looks like pudding), turn the crock pot back on to low. Stir every 15 minutes or so for 1 hour.
After an hour, it should look like mashed potatoes. If not, give it another 15 minutes until it does.
When you think it’s ready, take your finger, touch it to the soap and touch it to your tongue. If it “zings”, it’s not quite ready yet. Cook a little longer. Try again in 15 minutes. Repeat the zinging of the tongue test. Once it doesn’t shock your tongue (don’t worry, you’re not going to die), now you can add 1-1.5 ounces of essential oils if you choose. Stir it up good and immediately pour into molds/a pan, whatever.
Let sit for 12-24 before removing from molds or pan.
Let the bars sit for a day or two. That’s it! Then you can use them. Congratulations, you just made your own soap!
