US V Rahimi overturns in the federal 5th circuit the ban on people with qualifying domestic injunctions from possessing firearms.

So why should you care even if this does not describe you?

Because this is about FAR more than just a domestic violence injunction. This is about HOW 2nd amendment cases are decided. If the anti-2a crowd wins this case, it will be because the US Supreme Court has decided that laws from the 1990s are part of America's "tradition" of firearm regulation and that is really, really, bad news (1994-2004 assault weapons ban?).

Is Rahimi a nice guy? Does he deserve to be in prison? Basically that is all irrelevant when we reach this level of analysis when we are determining federal law that will echo for generations to come.
