045: The Human Right to Privacy

Privacy may just be more important than the Right to Bear Arms.

From brigands in the streets, to the halls of Congress, the term 'Rights' gets thrown around so flippantly that we should wonder if it retains any true value. In contrast, such unsanctimonious use can also be seen as tribute to the weight the concept of a right imposes on reality. As our world changes through the amoral development of technology, to the morally dubious encroachment of a surveillance state, it is not only what we think, but how we think about what we believe that will have implications on the world to come.

Privacy is something that can be threatened, but why we value it must be called into question. What we believe about morality, and the rights of the individual will have long-tail impact on what we argue to be true.
