Why was I expelled from the Labour Party? | Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi

Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi, the Media Officer for Jewish Voice for Labour, joins MintPress News to go over the events leading up to her suspension and eventual expulsion from the British Labour Party in 2022.

Her account goes back to Jeremy Corbyn's election as leader, bringing hope to a resurgent left in the Labour Party, to the current party leader Keir Starmer's purges of Corbyn supporters, to December 2022 when Wimborne-Idrissi officially learned she was out of the party after the information was leaked to the press.

She says, "I have submitted an appeal and it's based on the fact that the suspension and expulsion was based on bias, hostility, and prejudice against me as a person of the left, and in particular as a left-wing Jew, ... we undermine the narrative about people on the left being antisemitic because they support Palestine."

The form is for individuals to sign. The signed statement will be sent to Keir Starmer, David Evans and the NEC.
