Three people were arrested in connection with a strong-arm robbery followed by a pursuit

Three people were arrested in connection with a strong-arm robbery followed by a pursuit Thursday from Napa to Oakland, police said.

The incident started at 11:49 a.m. Thursday, when a robbery was reported at The Home Depot on Soscol Avenue. A 20-year-old woman told police she was assaulted and her purse was taken by the assailants, Napa police Lt. Chris Pacheco said in a news release.

The suspects, described as a female and two males, tried to pull the victim into their car, but she resisted with the help of bystanders, Pacheco said.

The trio then fled the scene in a white BMW SUV.

Napa patrol officers were involved in another priority call, so members of the Napa Police Youth Services Bureau, Traffic Unit, Napa County Sheriff’s Office and American Canyon Police Department responded.

American Canyon officers and Napa County sheriff's deputies saw the car and initiated a traffic stop. The BMW initially yielded, and the female suspect got out of the car and was detained.

A male suspect got into the driver’s seat and took off, initiating a pursuit, Pacheco said.

The officers and deputies chased the car until a California Highway Patrol air unit was in a position to take over the pursuit. The CHP air unit followed the suspects into Oakland, where the two male suspects got out of the car and ran off, Pacheco said.

"CHP ground units were in proximity and detained both suspects, who were later transported back to Napa County and booked at Napa County Detention Center by Napa Police on various felony charges," Pacheco said.

The suspects were identified by police as Quran Corbin, 27, of Los Angeles; Danny Williams, 18, of Oakland; and a juvenile resident of Oakland.

"The teamwork and assistance by all agencies involved allowed for this incident to come to a safe resolution while apprehending the alleged suspects."
