Top EU officials visit Kyiv before summit

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday (February 3) visited Kyiv ahead of an EU-Ukraine summit in the city. Accompanied by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, she stopped at an old dispensary set up in the main post office. Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell visited a demining site in the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital. He announced the EU would provide the war-torn country 25 million euros to support Ukraine’s demining activities.
