COP THAT: Truck Nearly Crushes Police Car While Changing Lanes

This dashcam footage shows how a careless lorry driver nearly crushed a police car into the crash barrier as he changed lanes without checking if it was safe to do so.

Luckily, no damage was done after the quick-thinking cop managed to move onto the hard shoulder as the trucker invaded his lane.

The incident took place in sleety conditions on a main road in Ontario, Canada, on 12th January.

The footage was shared by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) yesterday (2nd February) to warn road users of the risk of blind lane-changing.

The OPP said: "Failing to check before changing lanes can lead to terrible results.

"Signal, check your side and rearview mirrors, then look over your shoulder to check your blind spots before safely changing lanes."

At the end of the clip, it seems as if the trucker pays the price for his actions as the cop switches on the flashing lights and pulls him over to issue a reprimand.
