3D scanning my fossil plesiosaur vertebra (Revopoint POP 2 unboxing)

I've been on the lookout for a 3D scanner since I've started using photogrammetry to make 3D models of my fossils as photogrammetry takes ages and isn't always a true reflection of the fossil's dimensions.

With that in mind, I recently backed a project on Kickstarter for the Revopoint Mini 3D scanner which has an accuracy of 0.02mm - more than enough for what I am doing. I was chatting to one of their team who offered to send me a POP 2 to try as it would work well for fossils.

I've been using it for about a month now and I am loving the speed with which I can create 3D models! Soooo much faster than photogrammetry!

I wasn't paid to include this 3D scanner in the video, I backed Revopoint on Kickstarter, but they did send me an extra 3D scanner (the POP 2) to try it out for larger fossils.
