Putin lambasts Germany for arming Ukraine in fiery speech marking Soviet WW2 victory

During a fiery speech on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin evoked the spirit of the Soviet army that defeated Nazi German forces during the battle of Stalingrad during WWII, vowing that Moscow would defeat Ukraine in the grip of "modern Nazism."

During the speech in Volgograd, known as Stalingrad until 1961, Putin criticized Germany for helping to arm Ukraine and said, not for the first time, that he was ready to draw on Russia's entire arsenal, which includes nuclear weapons.

"We don't send our tanks to their borders but we have the means to respond, and it won't end with the use of armoured vehicles, everyone must understand that," Putin told an audience of army officers and members
