Ice Storm Hits Central Texas January - February 2023 - A Drone View

At the end of January 2023, an Arctic front dropped down into Texas, bringing freezing temperatures and freezing rain to coat the highways and landscape. We're not accustomed to such weather this far south, so it caused scattered power failures, school & business closures through out the region. This #short drone video was taken out northwest of San Antonio on February 1st. The location is near the Dominion Country Club / Subdivision, off Leon Springs Road & IH-10 West.

Drone was the DJI Mini 3 Pro which handled the high winds and light drizzle like a champ. We restricted the flight time to reduce ice building up on the propellers and had no difficulties other than the winds buffeting the drone a little bit.
