NDP public services and procurement critic Gord Johns and NDP deputy leader Alexandre Boulerice speak with reporters on Parliament Hill as Dominic Barton, former global managing partner for the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, testifies before the House of Commons committee on government operations. The committee is studying the contracts that the federal government has awarded to the company. The Liberal government has awarded over $100 million in contracts to McKinsey since the party came into power in 2015. The Conservative government awarded $2.2 million to the New York-based firm between 2006 to 2015. Johns intends to introduce a motion at the committee to expand its investigation to other firms including Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture, KPMG, and Ernst & Young.
